How To Use Emu Oil
Back To Emu Oil Info Center

All natural emu oil has no negative side effects so you can use it freely anywhere on your body that you wish. And use it for anything you wish. It has positive benefits for everyone from infants to seniors. As you can see on our page of fifty benefits, there are many uses.

Most Applications Are Basically The Same

Generally its just a matter of putting a few drops (or as much as you prefer), into your hand and rubbing the emu oil into the affected area. Just allow it to penetrate naturally. It only takes 5 - 10 minutes for it to penetrate and start doing its job.

About Your Clothing.....

Don't get emu oil on your clothing as you apply it. It makes a dark spot that will wash away, but takes several washings.
TIP: If you DO get emu oil on your clothes, Oxyclean will easily remove it, OR Dawn dishwashing soap!

How To Use Emu Oil For Dry Skin

Put about a teaspoon of oil into the palm of your hand and apply liberally to the dry area. Allow the oil to naturally penetrate (5 to 10 minutes). Repeat as needed. Depending on the severity of the dry area, you will see positive results in as little as 3 to 5 days (or applications).

Emu Oil For Burns

Emu oil is perfect for this application and provides soothing, all natural burn relief. Inflammation is the normal response to healing of a burn wound. This inflammation also causes scar tissue to form. Approximately 2.5 million people seek medical attention of burn injuries each year. Virtually all require some type of lubricant application during their recovery and all natural emu oil delivers.

Apply liberally to the burn, and often. Here are some pictures of a severe burn that has been treated with emu oil. You can see the accelerated healing produced by the pure emu oil.

Emu Oil Direct Skin Application

Pour a small amount of emu oil into the palm of your hand or apply directly to the desired area. One drop of emu oil will cover an area approximately the size of the back of your hand.

Using your hands, apply the emu oil on the desired area. Apply more emu oil if needed to cover entire area. You do not need to rub the oil all the way in because emu oil is a highly penetrating oil and will penetrate through the layers of the skin naturally. Cover the area only if desired. Apply as needed.

Emu Oil In Your Bath

Pour a small amount of Emu Oil into your bath water. About a teaspoon is enough. You can add other essential oils or fragrances if you desire. Emu Oil is odor free and works well with other fragrances.

Soak as you normally do. Wash as usual and if you prefer, use emu oil soaps for even better results. Before drying off, use a few drops in your hands to apply over your entire body, then towel or air dry. Emu oil will leave your skin smooth, soft and silky and pain relieving benefits may also be noticed.

Emu Oil For Pain Relief

Many people find great pain relieving benefits from using emu oil topically or in the bath. Emu oil is a natural penetrating oil that contains high levels of linolenic acid, (a substance known to ease muscle ache and joint pain) and oleic acid, which provides a local anti-inflammatory effect.

The types of pain emu oil helps to relieve includes muscle and joint pain, insect bites and stings, burns, cuts, bruises, abrasions, and basically just about any kind of pain that affects you.
